SAULT STE. MARIE, ONTARIO - June 19, 2018 (LSN) Sault Ste. Marie was ranked one of the friendliest cities in Canada by Expedia. In an article released last week, the travel website analyzed more than 750 communities based on visitor reviews. The Sault was rated ninth in the country.
The Expedia article, titled Friendliest Communities (and Towns) in Canada 2018, describes the city as followed: “Located on the banks of the St. Mary’s River, Sault Ste. Marie has always been known for its beauty and easy living. You’ll want to experience the good vibes for yourself.” The report also highlights the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Center and Art Gallery of Algoma. “You’ll see how the lovely area has influenced a wealth of artists,” the article states.
The Expedia results were especially encouraging for Ian McMillan, Executive Director of Tourism Sault Ste. Marie. “It’s great to have our community recognized on the national stage,” he said. “For the city’s high ranking, I give credit to our partners in the attractions and accommodations sector for their solid customer service that continues to highlight the Sault’s warm and welcoming nature.”
