"Celebremus! A Canadian Choral Celebration"

#LSN_Arts   Open rehearsal January 30th,  all women welcome.

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO --  December 31, 2017   (LSN)  Our first concert of the season, "Celebremus! A Canadian Choral Celebration". This will feature Theresa Thibert as the choir’s new artistic director soloists from within our choir, Carol MacDonald on piano, and special guest Colleen Kennedy on the oboe. The repertoire for this concert is a variety of Canadian compositions ranging from folk songs, to classical pieces. A particular focus of the concert is Imant Raminsh's "Missa Brevis" to be performed by the choir and Colleen Kennedy on oboe. 

For January 30th, we will have our open rehearsal. We would like to invite women interested in singing with us to join us for this special first rehearsal back after our concert. Singers need not feel obligated to sing this day, but are welcome to observe a first rehearsal of the rehearsal process on completely brand new repertoire. Alternatively, singers are also welcome to jump right in and sing that first day! We welcome singers of all levels of experience, or lack there of to join in our women's chorus. Mother's are also encouraged to join and are supported by the choir. Members currently and in the past have been able to bring their young children to rehearsal, so allow them to time to be able to come and sing, and spend time with the special women in this group! All women welcome to join and learn to sing, make great new friends, and learn a lot about vocal technique, music history, music reading skills, while having fun in a safe, welcoming environment.

They welcome interested singers to come out and hear our end product for this first term, but not be intimidated!
