Dracula Bill's Annual Halloween Mystery Dinner

WESTFORT,  ONTARIO   October 10, 2017   (LSN) The restaurant often teams up with the Capitol Players to present an evening of fun with a Murder Mystery.  This October 28th Mama Alfa’s will host the 4th annual Dracula event.  The background story is that Dracula met Mama Alfa when she was employed as his chef in his Transylvanian castle. Her recipes are from ancient texts she found in the Castle’s libraries - specifically from the collection of the Scholomance – a magical teaching school (which explains Mama’s supernaturally delicious sauces and pasta.)  Dracula fell in love with Alfa and every Halloween he shows up and tries to sweep her away from Ralph and back to Transylvania.  Of course, someone has to kill him and everyone gives their theory and there are prizes.  But Dracula never dies so he is sure to live again next Halloween.  Many guests come in costume, others don’t but all receive a copy of The Alfa Report newsletter, which provides background to the plot.

This Halloween is promising to be the best yet. The Capitol Players, Thunder Bay’s best theatre troupe - known for its innovative and creative impromptu performances - is combining resources once again with the best local Italian restaurant to provide the most fun for a Halloween event in Thunder Bay this October 28th.  There will be prizes, surprises and lots of fun. Twenty-four years ago, Alfa and Ralph St. Pierre decided to give up their drapery business and follow their heart and give in to their long-held dream to open an Italian restaurant.  What followed was Mama Alfa’s Pizzeria on Frederica Street where they have been serving up amazing pizza and Italian dishes, made by hand with homemade sauces and imported flour and cheeses.  

It isn’t just the great food that brings customers. The real charm is Alfa and Ralph, who have a true love of hospitality and cooking. Ralph’s motto is “We never want to see anyone leave hungry”.  Together they have recreated a small slice of Italy right here in Thunder Bay, where guests and children are welcomed.  Patrons often chat to each other and customers have become friends. 

The restaurant has a loyal local following and has served visitors from as far away as Australia, New Zealand, England, Holland, Sweden, Indonesia, China, every Province of Canada and various States in the US from California to Minnesota and Florida - as the comments in the Guest Books will attest to.  Often comments made are by returning visitors who are in town and think of the restaurant as an essential part of their visit.

Alfa and Ralph have become good will Ambassadors for Thunder Bay and Westfort Village.  Westfort Village has a great deal to offer:  restaurants, an antique shop, clothing stores, a supermarket, a deli, and a new bakery and Mama Alfa’s Pizzeria is a long-standing anchor to the community.
