THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO - March 7, 2018 (LSN) Magnus Theatre is proud to present BED AND BREAKFAST by Mark Crawford. Brett and Drew want to move out of their tiny downtown Toronto condo and into a house, but they just lost their seventh savage bidding war. Unexpectedly, Brett’s beloved Aunt Maggie dies and he inherits the historic family home in a quaint Ontario tourist town. Frustrated by life in the fast-paced city and unhappy with their careers, the couple decides to make the move and start a B & B. But when the guys face friction in their new community they discover the simple life is more complicated than they thought.
BED AND BREAKFAST premiered at Thousand Islands Playhouse in August 2015. This thoughtful comedy will keep audiences amused and wondering “Do they stay or do they go?” It’s an important look at how a couple deals with societal strife that comes with being “out” in a small community and finding ways to survive when it seems like everything can go wrong. It’s a beautiful portrayal of love, struggles against adversity, and perseverance against the odds.
Daniel Krolik and Iain Stewart star in this two-man, many-character, tour-de-force comedic delight! BED AND BREAKFAST illuminates with its unflinching view of the contrast between big city and small town mentalities. Upbeat, dynamic and cleverly written, it is as hilarious as it is touching. Filled with charm, challenges and intriguing guests, Magnus Theatre welcomes you to BED AND BREAKFAST, directed by Thom Currie, with set design by Joe Pagnan (We Will Rock You) and lighting design by Michael Brunet (Crees in the Caribbean).
