THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO   -  June 6, 2019   (LSN)  The students at Paramount Live have taken to the stage this week in celebration of their tenth year with their musical theatre production of The Sound of Music. The musical by Rogers and Hammersteini II “is a classic feel good family musical full of recognizable songs, love, and about following and finding your path” said director Spencer Hari. Audiences already this week have been falling in love again with this classic tale now playing on the Paramount Theatre in Thunder Bay. The Sound of Music is based on the real life story of the Von Trapp Family singers, one of the world's best-known concert groups in the era immediately preceding World War II. Maria, played by Micaela Morrow, the tomboyish postulant at an Austrian abbey who becomes a governess in the home of a widowed naval captain (Kenzie Belisle) with seven children, and brings a new love of life and music into the home.

The audiences this week however would highly disagree as her and the other youngest children have been stealing the audience’s hearts. Meadow Yaschuk who plays Marta, the second youngest child, said that she has enjoyed the “dancing and singing in this show – this was lots of fun, and just all the people that are in the show are very nice to me - it’s fun being with the older students.”

The cast is lead by Micaela Morrow as Maria, who for the past 8 years has been with the Paramount Live said that she “noticed a huge change in me as a performer since this incredible journey began. The cast has worked so hard as our show drew nearer and we couldn't be more excited for performing this show.” Her counterpart is played by Kenzie Belisle as Captain Von Trapp who started performing with Paramount Live just a couple of years ago. “Captain Von Trapp is very different from the other roles I've played so far (not a clown) and it's been a fun challenge wrapping my head around his character. But time after time the directors put out a fantastic show. Sound of Music is no exception” said Belisle.
