GRAND MARAIS, MINNESOTA    -  May 17, 2019   (LSN)   WTIP Community Radio announces the lineup for the Radio Waves Music Festival, Friday, Sept. 6- Sunday, Sept. 8 at Sweetheart’s Bluff in the Grand Marais Recreation Area. This marks the 12th year of this family-friendly festival, which features a diverse mix of local and regional artists. The event features three days of live music under the big sky and big stars of the North Shore, just a stone’s throw from Lake Superior.

Twenty-five acts will take the stage at this year’s festival, six of which are new to the festival, including the Joshua J. Schmidt Band and acoustic-Ska duo Woodblind. The weekend will also feature performances by local, regional and national favorites, including: The Carpenter Ants from Charleston, West Virginia (gospel-soul), Pushing Chain (roots-Americana), Yellow Bellied Sapsuckers (hillbilly country), Cherry Dirt (Americana with a twist), Lake Effect (folk), and the students and teachers of the Grand Marais Music Collaborative (variety). 

Area residents and visitors of all ages are invited to come together for three days of music at Sweetheart’s Bluff in Grand Marais as part of the 11th Annual Radio Waves Music Festival. Over 30 bands at an incredible outdoor venue, with dancing and children’s activities, are sure to make this year’s festival the best ever. The Radio Waves Music Festival takes place annually the weekend after Labor Day under a big tent in an outdoor venue, with on-site food, children’s activities, and on-site camping, rain or shine.

Tickets are $10 per day or $20 for the weekend, children ages 12 and under are free!
