THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO – May 5, 2018 (LSN) As part of their eastern Canadian tour, Winnipeg jazz rock / psychedelic band, Apollo Suns will be making a stop in Thunder Bay on Friday, May 25th to play the Foundry stage. They’ll be joined by local acts Sarah Hakala (singer/songwriter) and DJ Big D.

BIO - Born from the fusing of eight uniquely talented Winnipeg, MB based musicians, Apollo Suns have created a refreshing and innovative sound combining instrumental, rock, jazz and psychedelic music.
Apollo Suns constantly challenge themselves in their writing by constructing jazz influenced songs with the end goal of maintaining an overall accessible and catchy track for listeners of all kinds. Some of their most notable shows include support slots for The Brooks, Mariachi Ghost, Five Alarm Funk, Dave Quanbury, The Noble Thiefs and Bend Sinister; as well as showcases at Canadian Music Week, Festival Du Voyageur, Golden Sound Music Festival, Ness Creek Festival and Winnipeg Fringe Festival.

Their debut album, Each Day a Different Sun, was released April 8, 2017 followed by Canadian tours in the spring and fall of 2017. The album hit #15 on the Earshot! National Top 50 charts where it stayed for 7 weeks.
Apollo Suns are in the midst of recording a follow up to their debut EP, Each Day a Different Sun, with a release date in spring 2019. The spring and summer of 2018 will see the band crisscrossing Canada with a coast-to-coast tour anchored on national festivals and showcases.
