54TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING & CHAIR'S RECEPTION

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO - January 24, 2019 (LSN) The Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce Chair’s Reception & 54th Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday, January 31st, 2019 at the Confederation College, TEC Hub.
The event features a business meeting at 5:00pm, a networking reception at 5:30pm, and an evening program at 6:30pm, which includes the formal swearing in of Nathan Lawrence, 2019 Chair of the Board.
The special keynote speaker will be John Capobianco, Senior Vice President and Senior Partner for public affairs at FleishmanHillard HighRoad and Chair of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce. With over 22 years of grassroots political experience at all three levels of government, Mr. Capobianco offers a strong, seasoned and influential voice in public affairs and is a regular political commentator in Canada’s national media.

Before joining Fleishman-Hillard in 2010, Mr. Capobianco was senior vice president of Edelman’s public affairs practice. Since joining Edelman in 2006, Mr. Capobianco has helped numerous private and non-profit organizations build and maintain strong relationships with key government decision-makers at the federal, provincial and municipal level. Mr. Capobianco has a vast knowledge of helping companies navigate through the intricacies of government, including successfully helping the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario secure $15 million in federal government funding for a Centre for Stroke Recovery, providing strategic counsel to the Ontario Teachers’ Private Capital for its historic $52 billion acquisition of Bell Canada and assisting a world-leading security company get their new tobacco control stamps issue through to the federal government at both the political and bureaucratic levels.
