Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan May 8, 2018 (LSN) – On May 15th several historic properties will be open to the public in the 400 block of Ashmun. With the initial idea coming from the Sault Ste. Marie Main Street Economic Vitality Committee, several entities are partnering to showcase four available commercial properties in the heart of our downtown.
“This is our first real estate block party, and we hope to slate more for this year.” reported Justin Knepper of the Downtown Development Authority. “The Economic Vitality Committee along with several DDA board members and the help of the Convention & Visitors Bureau we will be able to clean up these storefronts, hang up historic banners and get new businesses moving in the right direction.”

Through the Economic Vitality Committee, we not only recognized the need to address the look of our historic downtown commercial properties, but to also communicate the unique opportunity that these four properties represent to small business. With a range of square footages, these properties are located on Ashmun Street which sees a high average annual daily traffic count. Smith and Company will have representatives available to answer questions and to help evaluate whether these current opportunities are a strategic fit for your small business”. The DDA will be on site as well as several other entities, including the Small Business Development Center and the Economic Development Corporation, to discuss resources available and how they could help move a purchase/lease forward.

“This is different than a traditional open house and our goal is to have other business owners aware of what is available, especially with tourist season kicking off.
