SAULT STE. MARIE, ONTARIO -  August 9, 2019   (LSN)  Mountain bike racers from across North America are returning to Sault Ste. Marie this month. Crank the Shield is taking place from August 16 to 18. The multi-day cycling odyssey is expected to attract hundreds of participants and visitors.
 

Crank the Shield features three stages that take riders on challenging and picturesque terrain through the Algoma region.

SAULT STE. MARIE, ONTARIO -  June 14, 2019   (LSN)  They’re baaa-aaack! The 2019 cruise ship season began this past weekend in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. This year, luxury passenger vessels will be docking here a total of 20 times between June and October. The ships are expected to bring 5,000 visitors, which will inject around $750,000 of direct spending into the local economy.

Taking place June 6 to 8, the 2019 event features a number of family-friendly entertainment, including a star-studded variety show, magic and improv workshops, and a Grease movie showing and sing-a-long.

The season includes two old favourites of the series with Valdy and Johannes Linstead, along with the fantastic Juno-nominated soul/blues group Samantha Martin & Delta Sugar.

All of these performers have earned at least one Juno nomination, marking the continued high standards of this annual series.

Highways
The Lake Superior Circle Tour in northern Wisconsin (highway 13), loops around Lake Superior state highways in the US states of Michigan, Minnesota (highway 61) and Wisconsin and provincial highways in the Canadian province of Ontario (highway 17). These highways are usually the closest to the lake.
