Hwy 7 Largely Complete in Time for Fall Colors

#LSN_News Hwy 7 Largely Complete in Time for Fall Colors
COOK COUNTY, MINNESOTA – October 7, 2017 (LSN) County Highway 7 received its stripes on Thursday and the major infrastructure project is now substantially complete. All that remains to be done are finishing touches such spraying the gravel shoulders to deter erosion and fixing a few remaining driveway washouts, which is good news for this weekend's leaf watchers.
Over $1.8 million in improvements were completed thanks to Cook County’s State-Aid Funds which are generated from a combination of state fuel taxes, license tab fees, and motor vehicle sales taxes, consisting of:
- Two-and-a-half miles of new blacktop
- Replaced eight culverts
- Repaired curb and catch basins near the new hospital
- Utilized Cook County’s Transportation Sales Tax funds to construct a new entrance to Maple Hill Pit to alleviate neighborhood truck traffic issues
