THUNDER BAY CITY COUNCIL: SQUANDERED TRUST PART TWO
– THE GOLDEN RICE BOWL

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO - October 7, 2018 (LSN) The long-lived nature of sitting city councillors is a phenomenon not restricted to the City of Thunder Bay. The community may be particularly badly served by it however. It raises questions respecting what goes on inside city hall that might account for this.
Urban planners, political scientists, schools of administration, and journalists may all find something of interest here. Not to mention ordinary citizens like the presenter of this video, trying to navigate the mercurial unfathomable seas of the public policy process.
Thunder Bay City Council: Squandered Trust part one is below, detailing the circumstances of the city’s doomed attempt to build a professional hockey facility.
Part two is a plea for respect for the ordinary citizen from elected representatives, administrators and, most particularly, from members of the fourth estate who have not been an ally of the legitimately concerned public who have attempted to shed a light on the privileged machinations going on inside the black box of public policy.
Perhaps it can stimulate conversation directed towards reform of a form of government said to be the closest to the people, yet in many ways, the most secretive.
