The popular choice had been the 55-57 Chevy’s, with spark plug lining up with the ball joint, was considered a natural race car. By the late 60’s, they became too old, creating a dilemma for those racing them.

As of June 3rd, spring weather conditions have allowed crews to make significant progress implementing planned prescribed fire projects across the Superior National Forest in northern Minnesota. A total of more than 3,600 acres on approximately a dozen units have been treated so far with prescribed fire, including dead vegetation that had been piled for burning. This is good news for native plants and wildlife who depend on fire to create conditions for them to thrive, good for general forest health and regeneration, and good in terms of reduced wildfire hazards for people living near or visiting the Forest.

As bears emerge from hibernation, their metabolism gradually ramps up and they will begin looking for food at a time when berries and green vegetation can be scarce. Remove attractants such as bird seed, garbage, livestock feed, or compost to reduce potential conflict. Attracting bears to yards can lead to property damage and presents dangers to bears.
