Alexander Henry’s Homecoming Fundraising Dinner

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO - January 28, 2018 (LSN) The homecoming of Thunder Bay-built Alexander Henry as a museum ship on Thunder
Bay's waterfront is the theme of the 2nd Annual Dinner of the Lakehead Transportation
Museum Society (LTMS), taking place on Friday, February 2.
The guest speaker will be Captain Patrick Toomey a retired ice pilot, ice navigation
specialist, author and retired Coast Guard Canada officer who will be “handing over-thewatch”.
Toomey, a tour guide for 22 years at Kingston's Marine Museum of the Great
Lakes will share his experiences on the Alexander Henry, the former Canadian Coast
Guard icebreaker, buoy tender, and lighthouse supply ship. Toomey's worldwide
experience as an ice pilot in both the Arctic and Antarctic for many years will entertain
both seafarers and non-mariners at the fundraising dinner.
LTMS invites everyone to an evening of homecoming celebration of the Alexander
Henry, which was built at the Port Arthur Shipbuilding Company in 1958-1959.
