THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO - October 1, 2018 (LSN) The City of Thunder Bay is hosting a Public Open House about the new proposed pedestrian and cyclist bridge over the McIntyre Floodway. The Open House will feature information about the project, concept plans, and an opportunity for the community to provide feedback on the project.
Krupper said early estimates indicate the project cost could range from $1.2 million to $1.4 million. In a TBNewsWatch story dated June 22, 2018
“This proposed bridge crossing the McIntyre Floodway is a key part of a longer-term project to develop a north-south walking and cyclist route,” said Adam Krupper, Mobility Coordinator. “The route is part of the 2008 Thunder Bay Active Transportation Plan and was chosen because it is a low-stress route and away from busy vehicular traffic.”
The Open House is taking place on Wednesday, Oct. 3, moved to Thursday the 4th from 4 – 7 pm, at the corner of Carrick Street and Waterford Street, at the McIntyre Floodway (near Rust Check). A free BBQ and warm drinks will be provided to those who attend.
City staff as well as members of TBT Engineering Limited firm will be on-site at the Open House.
