Los Fresnos, Texas, man, Jack Wicksey, 65 may be extradited to Sioux Lookout to face sexual assault, exploitation charges

SIOUX LOOKOUT, ONTARIO - June 16, 2018 (LSN)   Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Sioux Lookout Crime Unit have been investigating allegations of historical sexual abuse in Sioux Lookout between the years of 1989-1991. Seven adult males have come forward with allegations of sexual assault that occurred when they were under 16 years of age.

As a result of this investigation, Jack WICKSEY (65) of Los Fresno, Texas has been charged with nine (9) counts of Sexual Assault on a person under 16 years of age contrary to section 271 of the Criminal Code and nine (9) counts of Sexual Exploitation contrary to section 153(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.

Under the direction of Detective Inspector Gerry Scherer of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, he was arrested in Texas, USA on June 6, 2018 and will be extradited to Canada pending the conclusion of US Court Proceedings.

A federal magistrate judge in Brownsville will likely certify the extradition of a Los Fresnos man to face 29-year-old sexual assault and exploitation charges in Canada.
U.S. Marshals arrested Jack Allen Thomas Wicksey, 65, on June 1, court records show.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Ronald G. Morgan said after reviewing the extradition request packet sent to Brownsville by the Secretary of State on behalf of authorities in Sioux Lookout, Ontario, Canada, that he will likely certify Wicksey’s extradition.
