THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO - July 20, 2018  (LSN)  The Thunder Bay Police Service is requesting the public's assistance as an investigation into a break-and-enter and assault at a South Kenogami Avenue home continues.

Officers were dispatched to a home in the 100 block of South Kenogami Avenue at 2:40 a.m. on June 26, 2018.

The Thunder Bay Police Service is requesting the public's assistance as an investigation into a break-and-enter and assault at a South Kenogami Avenue home continues.

Officers were dispatched to a home in the 100 block of South Kenogami Avenue at 2:40 a.m. on June 26, 2018. A 57-year-old female victim fell asleep on her couch and woke to find a male in her living room. The male suspect struck the female and fled through an unsecured rear door after she called for assistance from her husband.

The suspect is described as an Indigenous male, approximately 25 years old, with short hair, standing about 6'0" tall and weighing about 220 lbs. He wore a light grey shirt with long sleeves, and light blue jeans.

Further investigation revealed suspicious activity on the date of this incident in that area of South Kenogami Avenue and the 600 block of Dawson Street. Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in those areas on or since June 26 to contact police at 684-1200. Police would also like to remind the public to keep their homes secure at all times.

Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of South Kenogami Street at 2:40 a.m. on June 26, 2018 after the homeowner woke to find a male in the residence.

The 57 year old female homeowner fell asleep on the couch and woke to find the male in her living room. She began to scream for her husband who was in the home at which point the suspect struck her.

He then exited through the rear door which was determined to be the insure point of entry. Police checked the area and were not able to locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as an Indigenous male, approximately 25 years old. He is approximately 6'0" tall and is 220 lbs. with short hair.

He was wearing a light grey long-sleeved shirt and lighter blue jeans.
