THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO - March 11, 2019 (LSN) Allegedly raped a young indigenous woman at Knifepoint accourting to sources.
CAPAY’s next court appearance will be March 18,2019 in Sioux Lookout to set date for a bail hearing.
A 26 year old ADAM MARK CAPAY appeared in Sioux Lookout Bail Court today, Monday March 11,2019.
Capay’s lawyer is Adriel Weaver from Southern Ontario. The Crown Attorney is not consenting to the release of CAPAY.
SEXUAL ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON AND MISCHIEF
Inside Edition sources indicate that ADAM MARK CAPAY was arrested by Sioux
Lookout OPP March 8,2019 and charged with 2 criminal offences.
Section 272 (1) Every person commits an offence who, in committing a sexual assault, (a) carries, uses or threatens to use a weapon or an imitation of a weapon;
Section 430 (4) Every one who commits mischief in relation to property, other than property described in subsection (3), (a) is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years; or. (b) is guilty of an offence punishable on summary conviction.
Sources further indicate that it is allegedly CAPAY raped a young aboriginal woman (18-23 years old) with threat of a weapon and damaged her property.
Sources indicate that a knife was used during the alleged rape.
CAPAY has a future court date of March 18,2019 to set date for a bail hearing.
OPP in a Media Release:
Sioux Lookout, ON.) - On Friday, March 8, 2019, the Sioux Lookout Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were contacted by the Lac Seul Police Service (LSPS) to assist with a sexual assault investigation that occurred on or around March 6th, 2019, in Kejick Bay.
The Sioux Lookout OPP Regional Crime Unit has now taken over the investigation and as a result have charged 26 year old Adam CAPAY of Kejick Bay, ON with one count of Sexual Assault with a Weapon, contrary to Section 272 (1) (a) of the Criminal Code. CAPAY is to appear for a bail hearing at the Sioux Lookout Courthouse on March 11, 2019.
The Sexual Assault investigation is ongoing at this time.
