Canadian female caught Smuggling cocaine

GRAND PORTAGE, MINNESOTA  - March 22, 2019   (LSN - U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Grand Portage Port of Entry seized 20.9 grams of cocaine on March 16.

Cocaine from Souix Lookout  Lake Supeiror NewsThe seizure occurred when a CBP officer referred a brown Chevrolet Equinox driven by a 43-year-old female Canadian citizen from Sioux Lookout, Ontario. During an inspection of the vehicle, officers discovered 20 small baggies of a white powdery substance that later tested positive for cocaine.

CBP officers took the driver of the vehicle into custody and turned her over to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office.

“Working collaboratively with our state and local law enforcement partners is a key component of CBP,” said Port Director Craig Kalar. “Through that collaboration we were able to take these dangerous narcotics off our streets.”
