DRUG WARRANT EXECUTED IN LAKE HELEN FIRST NATION

LAKE HELEN FIRST NATION, ONTARIO - December13, 2018 (LSN) - On December 11, 2018, members of the Nipigon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with officers from the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau and Community Street Crime Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrant at a residence in Lake Helen First Nation, Ontario.
As a result of the search, police seized a quantity of suspected crack cocaine, digital scales, Canadian currency and firearms.
Tristian SAULT, 50 years-old of Lake Helen First Nation, ON has been charged with;
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine.
- Fail to Comply with Recognizance.
- Careless storage of Firearm.
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.
Matthew MCCARTHY, 29 years old of North York, ON has been charged with;
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000.
- Unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm.
- Unauthorized Possession of Weapon.
- Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition.
- Possession of Loaded Restricted Firearm.
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to a Prohibition Order.
Jelaine BENITEZ, 20 years old of Toronto, ON has been charged with;
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000.
- Unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm.
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
- Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition.
- Possession of Loaded Restricted Firearm.
All three accused have been remanded into custody pending a future bail hearing.
