PRAYHAY was charged yesterday by TBPS
-Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x 2, of crack cocaine and cocaine.
-Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers responded to a call for service at 219 Finlayson Street just before 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2019.
Responding officers were allowed into the residence to check on the welfare of people inside. As a result a male at the residence was arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking. Officers found the male was in possession of a quantity of suspected crack cocaine and a quantity of money.
The Thunder Bay Police Service’s drug unit, with assistance from the OPP, NAPS and APS, later executed a search warrant at the home. As a result of that search officers located about $70,000 in Canadian currency.
Police also seized a quantity of suspected crack cocaine believed to have an estimated street value of about $53,000, and a quantity of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of about $26,000.
Duty Counsel Roberge though the instructions of Gil Labine wants to get a bail hearing tomorrow for PRAYHAY.
Federal Crown Poirier scoffs at that idea and reminds His Worship Caron that this will be a special bail hearing and require more than 2 hours. His Worship agrees with Crown Poirier.
PRAYHAY is being transferred to the Thunder Bay Jail and will appear from there by video tomorrow to try set date for a bail hearing.
