MORE FOREIGN STUDENTS ARRESTED FOR THEFT
WHILE ON WORK AND STUDENT VISAS

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO February 4, 2019 (LSN) THUNDER BAY POLICE HAVE ARRESTED 4 PEOPLE SO FAR INVOLVED IN STAPLES $26,000 THEFT RING.
THEY ARE ALL INDIAN CITIZENS HERE IN CANADA ON WORK AND STUDENT VISAS.

Appearing this Tuesday January 29,2019 via video from the Thunder Bay Police Station in Courtroom 104 is 23 year old SATYA PATIBANDLA.
Her Worship, Denette Maslach is presiding. Provincial Crown Emily Delaney is here along with Duty Counsel Joy Wakefield.
- PATIBANDLA was arrested last evening by Thunder Bay Police and charged with possession of stolen property. It’s alleged that PATIBANDLA was captured on video surveillance receiving Staples stolen goods from 25 year old ARMAAN ABROL.PATIBANDLA is released on an undertaking with conditions not to leave Ontario. His next court appearance is February 22,2019 in Courtroom 105.
- ABROL was charged and released last week with theft over 5000$. Inside Edition sources indicate he was the ringleader of these thefts and so far is the only one charged with theft.
- Two others are charged with possession of stolen property.
- A 24 year old AKSHAY BARSARKAR was arrested for possession of stolen property and released on an undertaking yesterday. He’s also ordered not to leave Ontario. His next court appearance February 12,2019 in Courtroom 105.
- A 26 year old RAHUL MANDEPU was arrested for possession of stolen property and released on an undertaking. He’s also ordered not to leave Ontario. His next court appearance February 12,2019 in Courtroom 105.
All men are ordered not to have contact with each other. Some are in school together here.
The above are all presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO - January 18, 2019 (LSN) Employee on work VISA accused of stealing $26 000 worth of inventory. Appearing by video from the Thunder Bay Police Station this morning, Friday January 18,2019 is 25 year old(he turns 26 next Wednesday) ARMAAN ABROL.
Justice of the Peace Anna Gibbon is presiding and Crown Attorney Katrina Van Kessel is here along with Duty Counsel.
ABROL was arrested by TBPS last evening and is facing a charge of theft over 5000$
ABROL is a citizen of India and here in Canada on a work visa. Inside Edition sources indicate that ABROL was stealing merchandise from his employer at STAPLES on Memorial Avenue and selling it for cash. He’s accused of stealing 26 000$ worth of electronics.
ABROL’S work visa expires in May 2019. He has a few supporters in the courtroom.- ABROL has no criminal record in Canada, but he’s not a Canadian citizen. A 1500$ cash deposit is required, he must report to TBPS by telephone every Monday and Wednesday as well as reside in the 100 block of South Franklin St. He’s not allowed to attend STAPLES store at 767 Memorial Avenue except to get employment records. He’s also ordered not to apply for any travel documents.
Sources indicate that ABROL is no longer working at STAPLES and other employees are being investigated as well.
ABROL’S supporters leave the courthouse to acquire the cash required to get him out of custody. His next court appearance is February 12,2019 in courtroom 105 @ 9:30am.
