Port McNicoll, Ontario - March 19, 2019 (LSN) In Ottawa today it has been announced that S.S. KEEWATIN will be published in a special leather bound LIMITED EDITION collectors book on July 6 2019, the 112th anniversary of her launch in Goven Scotland July 6 1907. In recognition of the S.S. Keewatin’s 112th Anniversary (2019) and her potential status as an official Ontario Tourist Attraction (a Canadian Historical Treasure) to develop a prestigious memorabilia publication that will be produced to showcase the S.S. Keewatin; her story, her history, her significant to Canada and much more …
The memorabilia book will be a hard cover style publication that will be made up of approximately 60 pages featuring text, vintage & current photos, a numbered Certificate of Authenticity, plus a number of special commemorative collectible items that are also in discussion (TBD).
The book will also include special pocket envelopes and/or pocket folders that will contain various replica souvenir or historic items from The Kee and potentially other replica items from the early 1900’s with all to be developed.
In 2012 TITANIC was honoured with such a publishing and in 2014 it was the Empress of Ireland.
The contents will cover the entire Canadian Pacific Upper Lakes Fleet from 1882 until 1965. It will cover the history of populating Western Canada, development of tourism, building of ships and Great Lakes maritime history. In each package will be memorabilia, post cards, souvenirs and enclosures.
