BORDER CATS ADD FIVE MORE PLAYERS TO ROSTER

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO - April 13, 2019 (LSN) Manager Eric Vasquez is proud to announce the addition of five more players to the Thunder Bay Border Cats roster for the 2019 Northwoods League season. Joining the Cats are pitchers Joey Hecht and Mark Anderson as well as catcher-utility man Conor Allard and outfielders Nick Seamons and Andrew Shebloski.
Hect is a 5’11”, 175 pound left-hander, who is in his sophomore season at Florida’s Daytona State College. The native of Centerville, Ohio, has appeared in 19 games out of the bullpen this season and has a record of 3-1 with two saves and an earned run average of 4.50.
Anderson is also a southpaw at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa. The 5’11”, 175 pound junior from Berwyn, Pa., made 16 appearances last season, including 11 starts, and struck out 49 batters in 53.1 innings of work. Anderson has a 1-3 record this season in nine games.
Allard plays his collegiate ball at the University of Nevada in his hometown of Reno. The 6’1”, 180 pound sophomore has played in 18 games this season and is batting .271.
Seamons also attends the University of Nevada and is a freshman after compiling a .322 batting average during his high school career in San Diego, Calif. The 6’0”, 185 pound right-handed hitter has appeared in 24 games in 2019 and is hitting .203 with three doubles and five runs batted in.
Shebloski is a junior at St. Mary’s College in Moraga, Calif. The 5’11”, 180 pound native of San Diego batted .280 in 14 games last season. He is hitting .190 in 14 games during the 2019 campaign.
The Border Cats open the 2019 regular season on Tuesday, May 28, at 7:05 pm against the Duluth Huskies at Port Arthur Stadium. Season tickets are on sale at the stadium box office and single game tickets go on sale May 1.
