HOYT LAKES, Minn. --  October 7, 2017  (LSN)  The Minnesota Iron Rangers of the Superior International Junior Hockey League has announced that former team goaltender Chase Hollander has joined the defending NCAA Frozen Four champion University of Denver Pioneers hockey staff as a volunteer coach.

Hollander spent the 2012-13 campaign in the SIJHL with the Iron Rangers before going on to attend the University of Wisconsin-Stout and tend goal for the Blue Devils men’s hockey program.

He graduated from the UW-Stout this past May with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and minor in coaching. 

Hollander was a member of the honors program and a recipient of awards including the scholar student-athlete award and the Chancellor's Award for Academic Excellence.

The 24-year old is currently studying sport and performance psychology at the University of Denver Graduate School of Professional Psychology. 

"I worked with Chase previously during my tenure with the Dubuque Fighting Saints in the USHL," Pioneers coach Jim Montgomery said in a statement released by the school. 

"We are lucky to have such a high-quality person serve as our volunteer coach and work primarily with our goalies. Chase will add to our program and enrich our student-athletes on and off the ice."
