THUNDER BAY, Ontario  –  October 10, 2017   (LSN)  The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Monday that Thief River Falls Norskies goaltender Brock Lefebvre has been named the Play It Again Sports player of the week for the period ending Oct. 8.

In two starts over the weekend the 20-year-old Kamloops, B.C., product won both of them helping Thief River Falls improve to 6-0 on the season.

Lefebvre began by posting the first shutout of the season Friday as the turned aside all 35 shots fired his way to blank the Thunder Bay North Stars 3-0.

One night later he made 47 stops on 49 attempts as the Norskies slipped past the North Stars 3-2 in overtime.

On the season the Thief River Falls netminder leads the SIJHL in save percentage at .955 and sits second in goals-against average at 1.72 while recording a 4-0 record.

Also earning consideration for SIJHL Play It Again Sports player of the week honours were the following:

Eric Stout, (F) Dryden GM Ice Dogs; Nick Lucas, (F) Fort Frances Lakers; Clayton Brown, (F) Minnesota Iron Rangers; Carson Smith, (F) Thunder Bay North Stars & Michael Di Lullo, (F) English River Miners.
