THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO -  August 19, 2018  (LSN) Lakehead University and the Thunderwolves hockey team are pleased to announce that defenceman Caleb Boman has committed to the program.

The 6 foot, 215 pounder from Sault St. Marie, Ontario played two years of Junior “A” for his hometown Soo Thunderbirds of the NOJHL before accepting an NCAA scholarship to Niagara University, where he appeared in 20 games during the 2016-17 campaign.  He left Niagara after his freshman season and used his final year of junior eligibility to suit up for the Trenton Golden Hawks of the OJHL, where he notched 46 points in 54 games.

Thunderwolves’ Head Coach Andrew Wilkins is happy to be bringing Boman on board. “Caleb is effective at both ends of the ice, and he has the potential to provide more offense for our team from the back end,” he said.

Boman, who will be enrolling in the Business program, is eager to come to Lakehead.  “I've heard nothing but good things about the University and the city of Thunder Bay.  I'm excited to see what the future holds for me and I can't wait to get started.”
