Wolves host Windsor to kick off 2018

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO - January 3, 2018 (LSN) The Lakehead Thunderwolves will kick off the second half of the OUA campaign this weekend at the Fort William Gardens, with the opening face-off set for 7:00 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday nights.
The Thunderwolves split the Christmas Challenge with the West Division-leading Guelph Gryphons on December 28-29. Lakehead was edged 3-2 in overtime in the first game, but rebounded with a 4-2 win the following evening.
Windsor played one non-conference game over the Christmas holidays, an 8-2 loss at the University of Miami, Ohio.
Like Lakehead, Windsor is a stingy team defensively, allowing just under three goals per game in 16 OUA contests this fall.
A big reason for that is freshman goaltender Jonathan Reinhart, who sports the best save percentage (.937) in the league. Junior netminder Blake Richard has also seen time in the Windsor goal, posting solid numbers.
Freshman defenceman Kody Gagnon is Windsor’s leading point-getter, and forwards Brennan Feasey, Ian Parker and Kyle Hope are also offensive threats for the Lancers.
